'Miyazaki' or 'Red Mango' or 'Egg of the Sun' or 'Suryadim' : The most expensive mango in the world is cultivated in Bangladesh.
Khagrachari, a hill district in the southern part of Bangladesh, is cultivating the most expensive mango in the world, which is being sold at Rs 800 to Rs 1,000 per kg in the retail market.
This mango is sold in different countries of the world for ₹5000-₹6000/kg in the retail market.
Where the price of mango in the market of Bangladesh is 40 to 100 rupees per kg depending on the variety and quality.
This expensive mango is not a variety of Bangladesh. Agriculture officials said the mango was a Japanese species. However, it is being cultivated in different countries.
In Japanese, mango is called 'miyazaki'. It is also known as 'Red Mango' or 'Egg of the Sun' in the world market. However in Bengal, this mango is known as "Suryadim".
The shape of this mango is bigger and taller than normal mango, sweet in taste and a color in a mixture of dark red or red-purple to see the outer covering of the mango.
Each and every mango weighs 350 to 450 grams, according to agriculture officials.
As such, the price of each mango in the market of Bangladesh is 400 to 500 rupees.
The price of mango is so high mainly due to low supply as per the demand, sweet taste, different colors and cultivation methods.
